The optional Radio Bookmark Player provides an enhanced interface for replaying your bookmarks. When installed, the checkbox is used to select the story as one you want to replay. - What is my activation code used for?
By selecting the Radio Bookmark as your membership gift from your local public radio station, you will receive an activation code. When you receive this code, please visit New Activations. Please follow the onscreen instructions to select your personal Radio Bookmark.
- I have entered my activation code but have not yet received my Radio Bookmark. Who do I contact?

- Do I have to maintain my local public radio station membership to keep using my Radio Bookmark?

For more information, please visit Terms of Use.
- Can I bookmark stories I hear on other public radio stations?
Yes. You can add in other Participating Stations to your Radio Bookmark. Please select the “Settings” link in the top right corner of your Radio Bookmark personal web page and add the new station. Then, if a bookmark appears for the incorrect station, find the station of your bookmark located below the length of the story. Click "CHANGE" with your mouse, and the list of your other stations and their corresponding stories will be displayed. Choose the correct story title and your bookmark will be changed.
- How does the Radio Bookmark work?
The Radio Bookmark simply captures the time of day and stores it in memory. Since it is not an audio recorder, you do not have to worry about loud background noises, being too far from the radio, or anything else. Just press the button. Then later, when you are ready to listen to your bookmarks, simply plug the Radio Bookmark into an available USB port on your computer. Since we know what was playing on your local station at any point during the day, your bookmarks allow us to display what you were listening to! The program, story, author, and even where you were at within the story. It’s as easy as that! You will get the entire story replayed at your convenience and in perfect clarity. For more information, please visit Learn More.
The larger button with the radio waves allows you to bookmark a story. The second smaller button with the thumbs-up will bookmark a story and mark it as a favorite on your personal web page. For more information, please visit Learn More.
- Do I have to be near my radio when I use the Radio Bookmark?
No. When you bookmark a story, we are just capturing the time, not recording the audio from your radio. All of the audio you replay through your personal web page is directly from the content provider. For more information, please visit Learn More.
- What programs does the Radio Bookmark support?
The Radio Bookmark supports many of your favorite public radio programs and will automatically replay the audio content. In the event that a program is not directly supported by the Radio Bookmark, we will still display the time that your bookmark was created and provide a link to the program’s web page. You can then manually select the program’s audio link to replay the story. Currently supported programs include: A Prairie Home Companion, All Things Considered, All Things Considered Weekend, Car Talk, Day to Day, Fresh Air, Inside Indiana, Marketplace, Marketplace Morning Report, Morning Edition, Talk of the Nation, Technation, The Diane Rehm Show, The Story, The World, This American Life, To the Best of Our Knowledge, Wait, Wait... Don't Tell Me!, Weekend Edition, and Whad'Ya Know. All copyrights are held by their respective owners. The Radio Bookmark is continually adding support for more programs, so please check back for the current status.
- What computers and browsers will support the Radio Bookmark?
The Radio Bookmark requires an available USB port on your computer. We support Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and Macintosh OS X v10.3 and above. All major browsers are supported. Additionally, the enhanced Radio Bookmark Player is available for the Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers. For more information, please visit Installation.
- Do I need to install any extra software?
You do not need to install any additional software to use the Radio Bookmark. Certain programs may require you to install the Real Audio player. However we guide you through installing the software if required. You can optionally install the Radio Bookmark Player for an enhanced experience. The Radio Bookmark Player will automate the replay of multiple stories, provide simple audio controls (play/pause/advance), as well as provide additional information about the story. For more information, please visit Learn More. To install the Radio Bookmark Player, please visit Installation.
- My personal bookmark page is not displayed when I plug in my Radio Bookmark. What do I do?
Some computers will prevent your Radio Bookmark personal web page from being automatically displayed due to their internal security settings. If this happens, simply open the “RadioBkMark” drive and select the “Bookmark” file to launch your personal web page.
- What if I bookmarked a story and it is not showing up on my personal web page?
It is possible that if you bookmark a story as it is ending, it will be displayed as the very next story airing on your public radio station. If this happens, find the time and date of your bookmark located below the incorrect story title. Click once on "MODIFY" with your mouse, and the list of adjacent stories will be displayed. Choose the correct story title and your bookmark will be changed.
- My Radio Bookmark personal web page is not displaying the story title, only the program name. What does that mean?
The information for new stories is typically not published until about 2-4 hours after the program has aired. Please wait that period of time, then try again.
